A Space Born from Experience and Heart

I’m Gerty Hattingh — a mother, nurturer, and lifelong caregiver who believes that the first year of a baby’s life is one of the most beautiful and transformative chapters a parent will ever experience. But it’s also one of the most overwhelming. I created Nurture Nest Guide to bring warmth, clarity, and calm to that journey — to help parents replace self-doubt with confidence and loneliness with community.
Becoming a parent changes everything. There are so many new emotions, new challenges, and endless advice coming from every direction. I remember how it felt to crave simple, honest guidance — something rooted in real experience rather than perfection. That’s why this space exists: to make those early days gentler and more connected for every mom and dad who walks through them.
My Mission
At Nurture Nest Guide, my mission is simple — to help parents feel supported, informed, and never alone. Through heartfelt articles, helpful checklists, and a growing community of like-minded parents, I aim to make the parenting path less intimidating and more inspiring.
I believe that when parents feel empowered, calm, and connected, children thrive. Every post, resource, and guide you find here is created to bring you value — to simplify the chaos, answer your most pressing questions, and remind you that you are doing an incredible job.
The Power of Community
Parenthood isn’t meant to be a solo journey. It’s a shared experience filled with stories, laughter, tears, and triumphs. That’s why one of my biggest dreams for Nurture Nest Guide is to build a safe, supportive community where new moms and dads can connect with those who’ve walked the road before them.
This is a space to ask questions freely, share experiences honestly, and find comfort in knowing that someone else understands exactly what you’re feeling. Whether it’s through shared advice, encouraging words, or simply knowing you’re not alone — this is your nest too.
Why It Matters
The early days of parenting are precious but fleeting. They’re filled with tiny moments that deserve to be cherished — even when they’re messy and imperfect. Nurture Nest Guide is here to help you slow down, find your rhythm, and nurture both your baby and yourself with confidence and grace.
So take a deep breath, settle in, and explore. Whether you’re here to read, learn, share, or simply feel understood — welcome home.
